With the construction of the Metropolitan Beltway of Rio de Janeiro, which becomes a part of Growth Acceleration Program, it will be possible to go to the Southern State or to São Paulo from Maricá without crossing the city of Rio de Janeiro. Petroleum
In the Santos Basin, in front of Maricá, is the Tupi Field and the reservoir of Iara. Together, these two projects can have a volume of petroleum near the proven Brazilian reserves of 14 billion barrels of oil. This will benefit Maricá in two ways: through royalties generated from the extraction of the oil and investments by professionals and companies that are expected to move to the region.

Real estate investments in Maricá
Awareness of the above-mentioned set of factors has led to diverse real estate investments being made in Maricá.
The Brascan Residential Properties, for example, in 2007 acquired 2.5 million square meters of land in Maricá. A Spanish group also announced the project of constructing a high class resort in Maricá.
